A partnership with a warming filter, this lens has nice pictures. It is a workhorse for me, until I started taking pictures from football matches. This slow AF is a problem and I upgraded to the 70-300 AF Tamrom a model. I also took some close-up shots with this objective, but I had a good way to get back. This is a good starter zoom, but it shows its flaws quickly enough. I bought this with my Nikon D80 and used it a lot of time. A partnership with a warming filter, this lens has nice pictures. The lens is nice, smooth zoom, the optics are sharp, and goes well on my new Nikon D40x but Compatility to autofocus. Note that not all objectives labeled "AF" not all autofocus camera with any of the line of the brand. Only lenses labeled "AF-S and AF-I" are compatible with the Nikon D40 and Nikon D40x, and as far as I can tell none of this makes Tamron AF types for mounting a Nikon.
