<description>Felt like a beer can in my pocket and looked like fisher price designed this camera for a 3yr old. Sorry folks, this is not ergonomically designed is any way shape or form. Images were mediocre at best. Actual use was very simple because. . . IT HAS NO FEATURES! Point and hope at its best. Like a relic from a time capsule when compared to most other cameras on the market. But in all fairness, sometimes simple people need simple cameras. And rather than cursing the darkness, I&#039;ll light a flame, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 is amazing.

<description>I bought this camera sight unseen. . I needed a compact waterproof camera that took magazine quality shots. . I love the product. . A bit more rugged frame would make it a 5-star. . However, I am not happy with the seller. . For starters the packing was poor and the box came dented. . Very little attention was paid to packaging what should be considered a delicate product. . There was also no warranty card in the box even though the specs said it was part of the package. . This makes me wonder what I got? Several emails and a few weeks have passed with no action on teh part of the seller. . I will not buy from them again as I fear that I have bought a grey market, refurbed, or something else??? I gave them 3 weeks to resolve this and nothing. . Terrible service. . .

<description>I waited patiently for the Canon D10 to arrive. Canon makes great cameras and something on par with their best point and shoots that is waterproof sounds wonderful. The problem is that Canon dumbed down this camera so much that is is not much of a camera at all. I am sure that it will take great snapshots but for $300+, I expected much more.

The zoom range is not very useful, there are no manual control options and leaving out HD video. . . what were they thinking. I am sure that the powers that be at Canon decided that the best plan was to make their first waterproof camera basically idiot-proof and then follow it up with hardened versions of their more avanced cameras down the road. Well, they succeded with the idiot-proof goal. The problem is that the price that this camera commands is way to high, based on its capabilities.

I wanted a waterproof camera to take with me on my kayak while fishing in the kelp beds off of San Diego. I release most of my fish so the photo I take is often the only thing that proves I was on the water and not at the bar. After finally getting my hands on the D10, I opted to pick up a very reasonably priced Panasonic ZS1, (not waterproof), at Costco for about $100 less.

The ZS1 is a much better camera for the money. While I would have preferred a waterproof camera, for the time being, I will just have to resort to keeping the Panasonic in a plastic bag while out fishing.

I am a big Canon fan and am certain that one of these days they will release a waterproof camera that befits the Canon name. The D10 is just not a very good effort.

<description>Everything about this camera is fantastic EXCEPT for one little thing. . . when we opened the box the srtap mount (the peice that attaches the strap to the camera)was missing. Now,tell me how are you supposed to use a UNDERWATER camera without a stap. Now we have to buy the 128. 00 acessory kit in order to be able to use it on lur trip. I am very dissapointed that this wasnt there. Although, from what i have seen so far it is a good camera that is easy to use and is not &quot;dummie proof&quot;. :)

<description>are you kidding me? this camera is marketed for rugged outdoor use, but canon let the most delicate part of the camera unprotected. major design flaw.

update: i thoroughly tested this camera, and i can honestly say that it deserves a 1-star. what really kills it is the auto mode. in auto mode, there is considerable auto focus lag. it gets annoying when you are trying to take a picture and the screen keeps going from blurry to clear as the camera is trying to auto focus--which sometimes takes more than 1-second. secondly, every single picture that i have taken in auto mode has a yellow hue to it. i am not sure if this is due to the camera picking an ISO that is too high/low.
